Call for abstracts

Bring your research to the people who will use it.

We invite 300-word abstracts on research, field experience and policy across six tracks of the energy transition. Review is rolling, with a decision in about ten days, and accepted work is eligible for indexed proceedings and a journal special issue.

Ways to contribute

Five formats, one submission form.

Research

Oral presentation

15 minutes plus 5 for questions, in one of the six scientific tracks.

Research

Poster

A0 portrait, shown in the exhibition hall for all three days, with a dedicated poster session over drinks.

Industry

Industry case study

A peer-reviewed field report, lessons learned or technology deployment. No full paper is needed, and confidential data can be anonymised.

PGR

PGR showcase

A 3-minute lightning talk plus poster for PhD researchers, judged for the Best Student Award.

Image

Research Image Competition

The ECM tradition since 2014: the winning image from your research becomes the programme cover.

Remote

Virtual presentation

Can't travel? Present live or pre-recorded with a virtual presenter pass.

Tracks & topics

Six tracks. Pick the one that fits best, and we'll help with the rest.

Each track is co-chaired by an academic and an industry expert. Topics are indicative; strong work at the edges of a track is very welcome.

Guidelines

What makes a strong abstract.

Reviewers score each abstract out of 5 on four criteria. Industry co-chairs read every abstract in their track.

25%

Novelty

What is new compared with the state of the art or current practice?

25%

Rigour

Sound methods, data or field evidence behind the claims.

25%

Relevance

A clear link to an energy-transition problem.

25%

Clarity

A clear story in 300 words: problem, approach, result, impact.

Format: title (max 20 words) · 300-word abstract · up to 5 keywords · authors and affiliations, with the presenting author marked · track · format · optional figure. You can edit your submission until the deadline.
Submit

Submissions open on 1 November 2026.

Create your account now so you're ready. You'll submit and track everything, including reviewer feedback, from your portal.

Publication

Accepted work can go further.

We have proposed a Springer Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering volume (Scopus and EI indexed, subject to publisher approval) and a journal special issue for extended papers.
