A conference where science and industry meet as equals.
AXIS 2027 — Aberdeen eXchange for Industry & Science — is an international conference on energy transition and mechanics. It is organised in Aberdeen by Bon Accord Symposia Ltd and led by the founders of the ECM symposium series.
Shorten the distance between a result and its use.
The energy transition is an engineering problem: making floating structures survive the North Sea, keeping hydrogen from embrittling steel, storing CO₂ under caprock that must hold for centuries, and reusing fifty years of offshore assets. The researchers working on these problems and the engineers who own them rarely sit in the same room.
AXIS is designed to put them there. Each track has both an academic and an industry co-chair. Field case studies are peer-reviewed alongside research. The Challenge Exchange invites companies to bring real problems and leave with collaborators.
Bon Accord, Aberdeen's motto since the fourteenth century, means "good agreement". It is the spirit we want between science and industry, and the name of our company.
Built on a decade of symposia, and redesigned for industry.
